The aim of this project is to identify cost-efficient, high-impact interventions using the carbon handprint approach. By integrating land-based carbon sinks, sustainable transport, and biodiversity measures, the project will explore how to mitigate climate change efficiently with limited resources, offering a replicable model for other cities navigating similar constraints.
Planned actions during in HALT project are emission mapping and cost-efficiency analysis, smart mobility and carbon sink pilot projects, handprint intervention planning, stakeholder engagement workshops and training, and dissemination events and national collaboration
HALT project is led by the City of Lappeenranta and co-implemented with LUT University.
